Year 4 Radio Adverts

posted 5 Feb 2014, 01:03 by   [ updated 5 Feb 2014, 01:05 ]

This half term, Spring 1, Year 4 have been studying persuasive texts in Literacy. We have learnt that persuasive texts use catchy slogans that use rhyme or alliteration to catch the listener's attention, they ask questions and use imperative (bossy) verbs. We thought about why we are proud to come to Valley Park School and made radio adverts to persuade people to come to our school. We hope you enjoy them...

Norfolk managed to collect together the most house points during the Autumn term 2014.
The members of Norfolk received their reward on the first Friday back after Christmas, enjoying an afternoon of special sport activities with rachel, our specialist teacher.

The children can still gain House Points ~ individual children collect "smileys" and these contribute towards the House Point system. Children get House Points for VERY special achievements!

Children collect smileys in order to achieve certificates ~ bronze, silver, gold... It is possible to get a smiley for many different things: sometimes it is for simply doing the right thing, sometimes it's for doing something extra specially kind, sometimes it's for trying hard, sometimes it's for smiling! You never know when you're going to get a smiley. It's our way of saying "Thank you. We're glad that you're a part of our school."

Certificates are presented in Friday assembly and parents are invited to join us to share the success of their child.

Welcome Back!!
